The Anglican Church of Nigeria under the headship of Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh has appointed veteran Journalist, Mr Folu Olamiti as the head of the board of Directors that will birth Anglican Cable Network Nigeria.
While inaugurating the board in Abuja, Most Reverend Okoh stated that the Anglican Church will continue to run a world standard electronic medium to keep winning souls for God.
The primate therefore implored the ACNN Board to work very hard and register as a household name in Nigeria with educative and appealing programmes.
While commending the efforts of Mr and Mrs Modupe Alakija for the support given to the church as well as the fund initially needed to kick-start the Cable Television project, he also called on all well meaning Nigerians and Anglican Church members to rise in support of the Television project with finds needed to successfully run the project.
The newly appointed Board Chairman, Folu Olamiti thanked the Anglican Church for the confidence reposed in him and other members of the Board. He also pledged that members would take the television station to the next level of professional excellence.
Other members of the newly inaugurated Board of Directors of ACNN are Right Reverend Blessing Enyindah, Right Reverend Chidi Oparajiaku, Mr TB Akinyeye, Dr GTN Ajakpo, Venerable Dr Dade Sadare, Mrs Bisi Amagada and Mrs Ngozi Adighibe.
The Idanre, Ondo State born Folu Olamiti is an experienced and widely travelled journalist who would always be remembered for his decades of editorial service to African Newspapers Plc (publishers of Tribune Titles) where he rose from reporter to Executive Director of the Obafemi Awolowo owned conglomerate. Olamiti also made an indelible mark while reporting the activities and programmes of Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Olamiti also served meritoriously as the in-house Media Consultant with Independent Corrupt Practices (ICPC) in Abuja.
