Brandcampaign.com.ng : Tell us a bit about yourself and educational background.
Omamidayo: My name is Olatimileyin Olamidayo Esther, I was born on October 8, 1982, Ibadan. I am a native of Odo Aiyedun in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State. I had my primary and secondary education in Ibadan but later went to Oduduwa College, Ile-ife to complete my Secondary School education. I later attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka where I studied Social Studies Education.
Brandcampaign.com.ng : For how long have you been into modeling and how did you get into the profession?
Olamidayo: When I was younger, there were lots of people that advised me to go into modeling because I was tall and slim and also loved to walk like a model, but as a kid, my mind was not focused on modeling but I noticed I like fashion. My parents and my siblings were the ones that encouraged me into modeling. That was in 2011 but I started real modeling in 2012 when I was in the first year in the University. I have met a lot of people in the industry and I have being to some countries for fashion shows.
Brandcampaign.com.ng : What were your parent’s reaction when they learnt of your being a model?
Olamidayo: Like I said earlier, my parents were the ones that advised me into modeling and they were pleased and happy when I told them that I had joined the profession. With their prayers and advice, I have been able to reach where I am today.
Brandcampaign.com.ng :Has it been profitable and what has been the challenge?
Olamidayo: yes, it has been profitable for me as a person. The only challenge is the not very big fees paid to models, when you are not paid well, we call it free jobs.
Brandcampaign.com.ng :Which brands remain your best in the industry?
Olamidayo: My best brands are Adebakare, Obe Ampeli’s couture, Agatha O shewami and many more.
Brandcampaign.com.ng : Aside from modeling, what else do you do?
Olamidayo: Yes, own a cleaning company “Olamidayo Magic Hands Cleaning Services”. I started the business when I finished my University education when I could not secure employment. I believe that very soon, the business will grow bigger.
Brandcampaign.com.ng :How can the profession be improved on?
Olamidayo: Modelling is a very good profession which parents should encourage their children to go into. The modeling profession can be improved upon if the models themselves improve both physically and spiritually.
I also believe models should be more humble , be respectful and obey their parents.
